Lots of websites have set up independently of the official NHS, offering the card but charging a ‘processing’ or ‘administration’ fee as well as further charges for ‘express’ delivery. Once users have filled in their details on the unofficial sites, the information is simply copied to the NHS site , where it is processed free of charge and sent out to the applicant!
